A news report out of Pakistan attributing critical comments about the United States to H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, is totally unfounded. Prime Minister Erdoğan traveled to Pakistan this past week to tour parts of the country devastated by the recent floods and pledge lasting support for relief efforts. One news report alleged that Prime Minister Erdoğan granted an exclusive interview during which he suggested that the United States was providing support to common enemies of Pakistan and Turkey. Prime Minister Erdoğan made no such comments nor did he give any exclusive interviews.
